Our Story

Every parent knows that one of early parenthood's biggest challenges is getting enough good quality sleep. With continuous broken sleep patterns, getting your baby settled at night can be an ongoing battle. You feel THAT shattered; lack of sleep exacerbates and magnifies your emotions ten-fold in a continuous loop of bone-tired sleep depravity.

Getting your baby to sleep isn’t always the issue (hello comfort feeding!). The problem is all-too-often helping them STAY asleep - who hasn’t cried tears of frustration over their baby jiffling and waking the minute you creep away?

Babies need to feel secure, snug, and safe to help them grow into independent sleepers. And as parents, you need to totally trust the products you’re using. Sleepthru was launched in 2023 to do just this, helping you face nighttimes fearlessly with the reassurance that your baby is comfortable and safe.

Founder Story
“My nightly routine was always the same: my daughter fell asleep in my arms or on the boob which was lovely. But as soon as I put her down in her own cot…she screamed! My son, who was prone to chest infections would wake up often throughout the night, unable to settle himself back off. I was overtired, overwhelmed, and over it!

And I wasn’t alone, my friends were all suffering similar sleep-deprived issues, feeling like they were “failing” and “not quite cut out for the job”. To which I would reply job! You're doing a great job you're just f***in tired!”

On the advice of the experts, I decided to try self-soothing and introduce a comforter. Like most babies, mine loved to bury their faces in muslins. Problem was as they wriggled about, the blanket would end up covering their entire heads, which is both a suffocation hazard and terrifying! My son, with his full set of teeth at 6 months, would chew anything in sight, so a cuddly toy with potential loose parts - an eye, a button, or even fur - posed a choking hazard, making that also not an option. So I got to work and with some nylon tights, wadding, muslin cloth, and help from a seamstress (I can barely sew a hem) and the first prototype was born. Twelve months of design modifications to rigorous safety standards, our Sleepthru Comforter was ready – and it works!”

Spending months of research on the intricacies of infant sleep ignited a newfound passion in our founder Vicky and in October 2023 she qualified as an Infant Sleep Consultant.
